How can my business benefit from using Visa Incentive cards for rebates?

Visa Incentive cards offer your company an economical, flexible, and easy-to-administer alternative to traditional rebate check programs, in addition to building brand awareness each time the card is used. A rebate card program can also create new revenue streams and generate incremental revenue from existing business.

How do recipients benefit from Visa Incentive cards when used for rebates?

Visa Incentive cards provide shopping flexibility, choice, and immediate, easy use. They work like all other Visa-branded debit cards, so consumers can purchase whatever they want anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, without the inconvenience of having to cash a check or complete additional steps in the fulfillment process.

What are the benefits of personalized and non-personalized cards?

Personalized cards allow the card recipient's name and a custom message to be embossed on the face of the card. Although non-personalized cards have no embossed message or name, they can be issued instantly. The cardholder benefits are the same whether the cards are personalized or not.

Can Visa Incentive cards be distributed outside of the United States?

Although Visa Incentive cards cannot be issued outside the United States, some can be used outside the country. If the card states "Valid only in the United States" on the front, the provider has issued a Domestic Use Only card. Such cards should not be accepted at locations outside of the United States.

What happens if a Visa Incentive card is lost or stolen?

Visa Incentive cards are covered by Visa's Zero Liability policy1, which protects the cardholder from fraudulent use of a lost or stolen card. Lost or stolen cards will be replaced with no penalty to the cardholder or your company. Upon discovering the loss, the cardholder should immediately notify the provider, who will issue a replacement card containing the remaining balance at the time the card was reported missing.

Does Visa conduct research on rebate cards?

Once a year, Visa conducts research on attitudes about the use of rebate cards. To learn more about the research available to Visa partners, please contact your Account Executive.

How do I implement a rebate card program using Visa Incentive cards?

Contact a participating card provider to learn about their specific rebate offerings, including custom programs.

1 Visa's Zero Liability policy covers U.S.–issued cards only and does not apply to ATM transactions, PIN transactions not processed by Visa, or certain commercial card transactions. Cardholder must notify issuer promptly of any unauthorized use. Consult issuer for additional details or click here.
